A woman has been arrested in connection to the 3-alarm fire that burned a McMinnville pizza parlor and movie theater, says the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office.
Meagan J. Ray, 38, was arrested after being found in a vehicle by officers early Friday morning. She is accused of causing the fire at 3rd Street Pizza on May 24th, 2023, which caused substantial damage to the building.
Ray has been charged with:
- Reckless Burning - A Misdemeanor
- Reckless Endangering - A Misdemeanor
- Criminal Mischief 2 - A Misdemeanor
- Criminal Trespass 2 - C Misdemeanor
The fire marshal says the fire tore through the back of 3rd Street Pizza Company, up multiple floors, and through the roof.
No one was inside the building at the time and there were no reported injuries, but some of the building was damaged
However, the owner of 3rd Street Pizza said they were optimistic they'll be back open in a matter of weeks, "better than before."
The fire impacted many summer activities the community had planned at the location, including a Pride event and several movie screenings.
