Police believe, prior to this, Lynn assaulted a female at a home earlier in the day. Police were told he vowed to come back with a gun.

Hours later, deputies found Lynn near the Polk County line. They added that he may have fired another shot, and then he crashed his car into a truck on Highway 163.

Officers took Lynn into custody near the Old Salem Church and booked him into the McMinn County Jail.

Police are charging him with eight counts of aggravated assault, including against a first responder, aggravated burglary, evading arrest, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and DUI.

He is on a $150,000 bond.
