Weevils defeat Arkansas Tech 8-5 to win GAC Championship
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils finished the regular season in a three-way tie for the Great American Conference Championship of Harding and Arkansas Tech and after comparing the record against the next highest ranked conference finisher, Henderson State, the Boll Weevils became the number one seed heading into the GAC Championship Tournament.
Billies, Lady Billies enter 4A State Tournament
The Monticello Billies and Lady Billies will both enter the Class 4A State Championship Tournament in Gravette as the second seeds from the 4A South Region. For the Billies, they entered the Regional Tournament as the fourth seed and had to open tournament play against the one seeded Nashville Scrappers.

On Saturday, April 27, local author and Director of the Fred J. Taylor Library on the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus, Daniel Boice introduced his new book, Naming Arkansas, at the Monticello Branch Library. Boice talked with the crowd present and discussed his inspiration for the book, and the process of compiling the necessary information. Boice then signed books for those who had copies of the book.
