McFARLAND, Wis. -- Police in McFarland are asking for the public's help in finding a potential witness to a drive-by shooting on Memorial Day.

Police were called to the intersection of Highway 51/Stoughton Road and Larson Beach Road at about 11:21 a.m. Monday after getting reports of someone firing a gun from inside a vehicle.

As of Thursday, police have not yet identified a suspect or made any arrests. As part of their investigation, though, police have identified a vehicle driven by a possible witness. In an update Thursday, McFarland Police Chief Aaron Chapin says they are looking for the driver of a vehicle photographed near the area that may have seen the events unfold.

The potential witness inside that vehicle is described as a white male who is between 60 and 70 years old. Police say the man may have had an interaction with the suspects in the shooting incident at the intersection prior to the shooting.

Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or the description of the driver is asked to call the McFarland Police Department at 608-838-3151.
