Two individuals were transported to the hospital following a collision involving a semi-trailer, according to the McCook Police Department. The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of West J Street and Highway 83.
Authorities report that a semi-trailer, travelling north, entered the intersection when a westbound SUV, driven by 86-year-old Richard Trail of McCook, collided with the trailer. The impact caused the rear of the trailer to drive over the hood of the SUV, pushing it off the roadway.
Richard Trail and his wife Clara were both taken to a local McCook hospital for medical treatment. Richard was later transferred to another medical facility via air transport.
The driver of the semi-trailer did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
