Cleveland.com Girls Wrestling All-Stars 2024: Meet the best from Northeast Ohio
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The introduction of girls wrestling as an OHSAA sanctioned sport has gone hand in hand with one name: Jayden McKinney. In 2022, when the girls wrestling state tournament was still being run by the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association (OHSWCA), McKinney won her first state title. The Akron Manchester product has been nothing short of dominant since, going 8-0 at the OHSAA state tournament with seven pins, six in the first period, and a 16-0 technical fall. Four of those first-period pins came in this year’s tournament.
