Matthews Police searching for missing teen

A 15-year-old was last seen in the area of Hunting Court in Matthews on Sunday, March 19 at around 9 p.m.

MATTHEWS, N.C. — The Matthews Police Department was looking for a missing 15-year-old but she was safely located and reunited with her family about eight days later.

According to police, the 15-year-old was last seen in the area of Hunting Court in Matthews on Sunday, March 19, at around 9 p.m.

Police said she was wearing a plain black hoodie, plain black sweatpants, and dark gray Jordan tennis shoes. She is around 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds with long dark brown hair that she usually wears in a ponytail. She has a tattoo under her right ear of Japanese script, and one on her upper left arm of flowers.

Authorities said on March 27 that she was found safe and was reunited with her family.
