Up to 4 Inches of Rain Soaks Mobile and the Alabama Coast This Weekend While Birmingham Hits 88, Before a Tropical Low Could Bring Rain October 10 and 11
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA — Alabama is in for a split-screen weekend. Much of the state started Saturday, October 3 mostly rain-free, with temperatures running well above average and Birmingham forecast to reach about 88 degrees. But rain will become much more widespread on Sunday, and weekend totals could range from about half an inch in the Tennessee Valley to 3 to 4 inches near the coast, including Mobile. After a mostly dry and pleasant week ahead, global models suggest a broad tropical low could bring rain back to the state around October 10 and 11.

Localized 2 to 3 Inch Hourly Rainfall Brings Flash Flood Threat to Mobile, Pensacola, and Florida Panhandle as Five Radars Remain Down
GULF COAST — Heavy rain is falling along the upper Gulf Coast Sunday morning, with localized hourly rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches or more. A localized flash flood threat continues through 14Z, or 9 a.m. Central time, across coastal Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Adding to the concern, several National Weather Service radar sites across the region are down and not reporting. That means heavy rain may be difficult to track in real time as it moves through affected communities.
