MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Maryland man wanted for attempted murder in West Virginia has been arrested by U.S. Marshals.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, on May 17, 2024, a warrant was issued out of Berkeley County for Justin Broadus, 36, of Hagerstown, Maryland.

The warrant charged Broadus with Attempted Murder, Conspiracy to Attempt Murder, Wanton Endangerment, and conspiracy to Wanton Endangerment with a firearm.

The charges stem from a shooting at Club Aura, in West Virginia, in December of 2021.

On May 20, 2024, the Berkeley County Prosecutor’s Office requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force in apprehending Broadus.

The Fugitive Task Force had previously arrested Broadus in Hagerstown, Maryland for the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, in March of 2023 on an unrelated drug charge.

Upon receipt of the case, investigators were able to develop information indicating Broads was still in the Hagerstown Maryland area.

On Friday, May 31, 2024, Broadus was located and taken into custody, without incident, in the 300 block of Central Avenue.

“The Berkeley County Sheriffs and Prosecutors Office did a great job investigating this attempted murder case, which resulted in Broadus being charged,” said Acting U.S. Marshal Terry Moore. “This arrest is a great example of how our partnerships with state and local agencies allow them to bring their violent offenders to justice.”

Agencies involved in Broadus’ arrest included Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Hagerstown Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Broads is currently being held at the Washington County Adult Detention Center.
