The Columbia County Sheriff's Office recently arrested a man after he allegedly uttered racial slurs while walking through a Wendy's drive-thru.

Deputies responded Saturday to the Wendy's on Washington Road in Martinez for someone walking through the drive-thru, refusing to leave and causing a disturbance, according to an incident report.

An employee told deputies he took a man's order, not knowing he wasn't in a car, according to the report. The employee said he gave the man his food at the window, but they were waiting on his salad.

The employee then told the man he was refusing service and would issue a refund, according to the report. Deputies spoke with the man who said that "he just wanted his salad."

The man, who deputies noted was intoxicated, was arrested an issued a county ordinance citation for disorderly conduct, according to the report.
