Road Work on KY 645 in Martin County Starting Monday, March 27th

An update from the Kentucky transportation Cabinet:

MARTIN COUNTY (March 23, 2022)- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of traffic pattern changes and restricted lane widths along KY 645 in Martin County beginning Monday, March 27. A six-mile-long resurfacing project will start near the Lawrence County line at mile point 0.0 and extend towards Inez just south of Fly Over Bridge at mile point 6.2.

Crews will work from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with some weekend work possible. Milling operations will run for approximately three weeks before crews begin asphalt operations. The project is expected to finish in June 2023.

Roadway widths will be restricted to one lane during the day and night. Traffic patterns will change as the project progresses. Motorists should pay close attention to signage and equipment parked near the work zone during the day and overnight hours.

Mountain Enterprise has been contracted to perform the work. Work is subject to weather conditions.
