Motorcyclist suffers incapacitating injuries after collision with car

MARTIN COUNTY ― A motorcyclist suffered incapacitating injuries after a collision with a car, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Before the crash: A 27-year-old woman was driving a sedan south on U.S. 1 near Hydrangea Street around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, an FHP report stated.

The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man, was also riding south on U.S. 1 in the same area, according to the report.

The woman driving the sedan changed lanes into the path of the motorcyclist, FHP investigators said.

What Happened: The man attempted to swerve away to avoid a collision, but the front of the motorcycle crashed into the rear of the car, investigators said.

The crash ejected the man from his motorcycle, according to the report.

Injuries: The man suffered incapacitating injuries from the crash causing an inability to move some or all of his limbs, according to FHP.

There were no other injuries, investigators said.
