POLICE. NEW THIS MORNING, A HUSBAND AND WIFE FROM CANADA RECOVERING AFTER A HEAD ON CRASH IN MARSHFIELD, VERMONT. ACCORDING TO POLICE, IT HAPPENED SHORTLY BEFORE 1:00 WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WHEN A BURLINGTON MAN CROSSED THE CENTER LINE CRASHING INTO WILLIAM GUILLARD ON ROUTE TWO. OFFICIALS SAY WILLIAM AND HIS WIFE, NANCY, WERE BOTH TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH SERIOUS INJURIES. THEIR TWO GRANDCHILDREN, WHO WERE ALSO IN THE CAR WERE NOT HURT.

Vermont State Police said a husband and wife from Keene suffered serious injuries in a crash.The crash happened on Wednesday on Route 2 in Marshfield, Vermont. Police said Dakota Oberg, 26, of Burlington, Vermont, was heading east in a Subaru Outback when the SUV crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. The Subaru hit a Toyota Prius head-on. The driver of the Prius, William Gillard, 74, of Keene, suffered serious injuries in the crash, police said. His wife, Nancy Gillard, suffered life-threatening injuries. Vermont State Police said the couple's two grandchildren, ages 4 and 2, were also in the car, but they were not injured. Oberg suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was issued a citation for gross negligent operation resulting in serious bodily injury.
