Vehicles found engulfed in flames over the weekend in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI— Fire heavily damaged two vehicles in Marquette Township on Sunday.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched around 11:30 a.m. to the Target parking lot between Dairy Queen and Sally Beauty. Deputies found two vehicles fully engulfed.

The Marquette Township Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the flames, but both vehicles sustained serious damage. The pedestrian bridge between the two parking lots was also damaged and has been cordoned off.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it appears to have started in the engine compartment of one of the vehicles.
