Woman arrested for drunk driving after two-vehicle Republic Township crash

REPUBLIC TOWNSHIP, MI— A Houghton County woman was arrested, following a two-vehicle accident in Republic Township Friday.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched around 4:40 p.m. to M-95 near Kingfisher Road. A truck containing two Marquette residents was northbound when it was rear-ended by a van driven by a Hubbell woman.

The driver of the truck lost control and the vehicle left the roadway. The van continued down the road until it flipped onto its roof in the southbound lane.

Everyone involved was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment. Once released, the Hubbell woman was lodged in the Marquette County Jail on alcohol-related charges.

The incident remains under investigation.
