BEFORE THAT TRAIN TIPPED. YEAH, AT LEAST. BUT FIREFIGHTERS WERE ABLE TO PUT ALL THOSE SPARKS THAT WERE COMING OFF THE RAILS OUT PRETTY QUICKLY. YOU CAN SEE MUCH OF THE CAR HERE WAS DIRT FLOWER WAS PART OF IT. THIS IS JUST FEED RIGHT HERE. AND HAZMAT CREWS WERE OUT HERE, BUT THEY SAY THERE WAS NOTHING HAZARDOUS IN THE MANIFEST. EXCUSE ME. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. AND THEIR BIGGEST CONCERN IS GETTING THIS THING CLEANED UP. NOW, TRAFFIC WILL BE CLOSED OFF THROUGHOUT MARLOW FOR ABOUT A MILE AND A HALF HERE. THE CAUSE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION, BUT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TELLS US IT WAS A STRAIGHTAWAY. SO SPEED MAY NOT BE THE MOST THERE WERE HOUSES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DERAILMENT, AND WHILE NO ONE WAS HURT, RESIDENTS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FIND NEW ROUTES. AN ENTIRE STREET IN FRONT OF THE EAST SIDE WILL BE CLOSED OFF BECAUSE OF THE WRECKAGE ALMOST IN THEIR FRONT YARDS. SOME IN THEIR FRONT YARDS. RESIDENTS WERE ASKED TO MOVE THEIR CARS OUT OF THEIR DRIVEWAYS AND ONTO A SIDE STREET SO THEY COULD STILL GET OUT IF THEY NEEDED TO. THERE ARE CREWS HERE ALREADY WORKING TO CLEAN UP AND MORE ON THE WAY. ONE HOMEOWNER SAYS SHE RAN OUT WHEN SHE HEARD THE TRAIN MAKE A SOUND SHE’D NEVER HEARD BEFORE. IT WAS SO LOUD THAT I HAVE A FRIEND THAT LIVES ABOUT EIGHT BLOCKS FROM HERE AND SHE HEARD IT. WE TRIED TO CALL 911 AND THEY WERE LIKE, OH, WE’VE ALREADY GOTTEN CALLS. AND MY MOM WAS TELLING THEM, NO, THE AXLES ARE IN MY PARENT’S FRONT YARD. IT’S KIND OF LIKE A BOOM, LIKE LOUD THUNDER, BUT SO MUCH LOUDER.
