Marion man dead after accident in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. — A Marion man died after a Saturday afternoon accident on County Road 300, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said dispatch received a call of a single-vehicle accident in the 3400 block of County Road 300 West at around 1:44 p.m. on Saturday. When officials arrived, they found a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe on its top in a field off the roadway.

The release said the driver of the vehicle, identified by the office as 58-year-old Christopher Paul Hisey of Marion, was found some distance from the Tahoe where he had been ejected. Hisey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office’s fatality accident team.
