GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A Friday afternoon crash on Interstate 69 claimed the life of a man from Westland, MI.

Indiana State Police (ISP) said in a release the crash occurred around 4:18 p.m. near the 263 mile-marker, just south of State Road 18.

The preliminary investigation showed Taulent Qose, 45, was driving a 2018 Volvo semi southbound. For an “undetermined reason,” the Volvo rear-ended a Peterbilt semi driven by Michael Jordan, 48, of Wolcott, IN.

Qose was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jordan was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

At this time, neither alcoholic beverages nor narcotics are suspected of contributing to the crash.
