Marion police recover multiple firearms and narcotics after traffic stop

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – Charges are pending after Marion police recovered multiple firearms and narcotics after a traffic stop Monday.

Officer Turk saw a vehicle being driven erratically and conducted a traffic stop.

During the stop he seized multiple firearms and narcotics.

The driver began to flle before Officer Turk even initiated contact.

Inspection of the firearms revealed one of them to be capable of fully automatic gunfire, according to the Marion Police Department.

Pending charges include driving while license suspended, aggravated fleeing, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, resist/obstruct a peace officer, and unlawful use of weapon with machine gun conversion device.
