CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - As part of National Healthcare Decisions Day, Mercy Medical Center is asking people to learn more about advance directive programs. In case somebody can’t speak for themselves during a medical emergency, these documents and protocols tell families and first responders what they want. These requests can include “Do not resuscitate” orders.
Parts ordered weeks ago for weather radio transmitter, remains out of service
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - On a day when the threat for severe weather exists for most of Iowa - weather radios in parts of Linn and Johnson Counties aren’t working. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities says old parts on a radio transmitter in Cedar Rapids allowed water to get into the antenna. Now it’s totally out of service.

Cedar Rapids woman charged for allegedly stealing more than $10K from elementary school PTA
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A Cedar Rapids woman is accused of stealing more than $10,000 from Madison Elementary School. In a criminal complaint, law enforcement said 37-year-old Nicole Blevins was serving as the treasurer of the school’s PTA, between January 2022 and April 2023, when the theft happened.
