Lynn Haven man dead after vehicle crash in Marianna, 1 injured

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – On Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a fatal crash in Marianna.

The incident happened around 8:00 a.m. on Rocky Creek Road near Delta Lane in Jackson County.

The driver involved was a 37-year-old man from Lynn Haven and the passenger was a 41-year-old female from Marianna, FHP officials said.

FHP officials said the man was traveling East when he veered onto the south shoulder. The driver over-corrected his vehicle and collided with a tree.

Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle and landed near the tree, according to a news release.

The driver died on the scene and the female passenger is in critical condition, troopers said.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire Rescue, and Air Heart.
