Traffic Alert: I-74 construction, Galesburg
GALESBURG, Ill. (KWQC) - Construction begins in Galesburg on I-74. Starting at I-74, near the north of the Main Street interchange, resurfacing and other work will be done on the highway bridges over the railroad tracks, officials said. Traffic on I-74 will be reduced to one lane in both directions periodically through November.

Oberhelmans give $1M to wellness center
ELMWOOD – Momentum for a community wellness center and YMCA north of the city received a substantial boost Monday thanks to Doug and Diane Oberhelman. The Oberhelmans, residents of Edwards who own reclaimed strip-mine land south of Elmwood, announced they are donating $1 million toward a matching grant for the proposed 33,000 -square-foot facility to be built north of Graham Medical Group’s Elmwood clinic.
Man killed in Knox County deadly ATV crash identified by sheriff
WATAGA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Knox County Coroner has released the name of a 25-year-old Altona man who died Sunday in an ATV crash in a rural part of the county. Killed was Angus Carlson of rural Altona as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Also injured in the crash was Logan Meier, age 19, of Cambridge, according to the sheriff’s office.
