JOSIE. WELL, THE SCENE IS CLEAR NOW. AS YOU CAN SEE, I’M GOING TO STEP TO THE SIDE SO YOU CAN SEE THE GENERAL AREA BEHIND ME WHERE THIS HAPPENED. IT WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SCENE EARLIER TODAY, ACCORDING TO THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, TWO VEHICLES LANDED HERE ON THIS FIELD JUST NEXT TO THE HIGHWAY ENTRANCE. NOW, THAT INCLUDES THE PATROL VEHICLE AND THE SUSPECT’S VEHICLE. ACCORDING TO A SOCIAL MEDIA POST FROM THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, THE DEPUTIES WERE IN PURSUIT OF CARJACKING SUSPECTS AND THEY WERE BELIEVED TO BE ARMED AT LEAST ONE GUN WAS RECOVERED ON SCENE, ACCORDING TO THE SHERIFF’S AND ALL THREE SUSPECTS, ALONG WITH THE DEPUTY WERE TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL. NOW, THE CHASE ITSELF WENT ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND YOU CAN HEAR THE DEPUTIES REACTION ON SCANNER AUDIO IN THE MOMENTS AFTER THE CRASH. I’M GOING TO BE GOOD ONE THREE. THEY’RE GOING DOWN INTO THE FIELD TO RUNNING. THERE WAS SO MUCH I THINK THESE ARE HOLDING ANYTHING BUT YOU SHOULD BE CONSIDERED DANGEROUS AT THIS POINT. ALL THREE SUSPECTS ARE NOW IN CUSTODY AND THE SUSPECTS AND DEPUTY WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MINOR INJURIES. ACCORDING TO THE SHERIFF’S. EARLIER TODAY, WE DID SEE SOME PGA CREWS THAT WERE OUT DOING SOME WORK HERE. WE WENT UP AND SPOKE TO THEM. THEY COULD NOT CONFIRM WHETHER THEY WERE DOING SOME WORK THAT WAS POSSIBLY RELATED TO ANY POTENTIAL DAMAGES AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH. BUT THEY DID SAY THAT THEY WERE AWARE THAT A CRASH DID TAKE PLACE HERE. EARLIER TODAY, WE DID ALSO REACH OUT TO THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT FOR COMMENT. THEY WERE UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME, BUT WE’RE STILL REACHING OUT, HOPING TO GET MORE DETAILS. FOR NOW, LIVE IN MANTECA.
