Get ready for the Inland Northwest winds to pick up
Our warm temperature spell is about to come to end, but before it does, Thursday will still be sunny with a high temperature well above average. By the afternoon, winds will pick up with gusts over 40 mph possible for much of the region. A wind advisory is in effect for the Upper Columbia Basin and the Waterville Plateau. Lookout for blowing dust and make sure to secure any loose items that could blow away.
Chelan-Douglas health director hopefuls to appear at Friday meet-and-greet
WENATCHEE — The public will have a chance Friday to meet the final three candidates to run the Chelan-Douglas Health District. The board of health that oversees the agency will hold a special meeting at Wenatchee’s Hilton Garden Inn, 25 N. Worthen St., from 3 to 5 p.m. There will be a public meet-and-greet with the applicants, and after that, the board plans a question-and-answer session with the hopefuls.
