The Central/Mayer Lutheran/Sibley East girls soccer team played Mankato Loyola Sept. 23 at home and earned a win.
“We discovered our offense and put goals on the board in a 4-0 victory,” said coach Brian Lundgren.
Sophomore Josie Kamps scored two goals, both well-placed shots, while senior Madie Horsch netted a pair of goals as well, with Kamps getting the assist on one, and Ali Schrupp making a great feed on the other.
“We tweaked our formation a bit this week to try and add some offensive punch and challenged several of our players by placing them in new positions and it paid off,” said Lundgren. “Very proud of the way our ladies responded. There was more movement and better energy overall. Senior goalkeeper Holly Feist has been a solid presence in net all season and scooped up five saves against a Mankato Loyola team that sported great leg strength.”
Next up for the Raiders is a home game versus Tri-City United on Sept. 28. This is a rematch from 2 weeks ago – a game that ended in a 2-2 tie at TCU.
