Nancy L. Tess

Nancy L. Tess, age 80, of Manitowoc passed away Friday, March 17, 2023.

Nancy was born April 9, 1942, in Port Washington to the late William and Janis Johannes.

She was a 1960 graduate of North High School in Sheboygan. Nancy furthered her education by attending Holy Family School of Nursing in Manitowoc and then earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing from the Universtiy of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1985.

Nancy took great pride in her career as a nurse that spanned from 1963 until she retired in 2003.

Nancy was united in marriage to Clayton Tess on Oct. 19, 1963, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan.

Nancy and Clayton raised their family in Manitowoc. She was involved with all of her children’s activities and is most known for her years as a Roncalli wrestling wife and mother.

Nancy loved her family and enjoyed fishing and playing canasta and games with her friends, family and especially her grandchildren.

She will be most remembered for her unfailing love of Clayton and her children, her kind spirit, being the life of the party and, of course, her clam dip!

Survivors include her loving husband of almost 60 years, Clayton, sons Mike (Heidi) Tess of Sun Prairie, Jeff Tess of Manitowoc and daughter Shelly (Rob) Mantel of Mountain View, Mont., 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was the eldest of five siblings and sister-in-law to her husband’s family of eight siblings and their spouses. She was the beloved aunt to 30 nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and cousins too many to count.

We will never forget her love and what she gave to each of us with the gift of her life!

Family and friends may gather at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. in Two Rivers on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until a Mass at 11:30 a.m. Father David Pleier will officiate.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.reinboldfh.com.

The Tess family would like to extend a special thank you to all who loved her, prayed for us and supported us during her journey of life.
