Man accused of punching boy, 11, selling candy in NYC subway station: sources

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A man allegedly punched an 11-year-old boy while he was selling candy with his older brother in a Manhattan subway station on Wednesday, according to law enforcement sources.

Alvin Doris allegedly confronted the young vendors and stole one of their cellphones in the Broadway-Lafayette subway station in Lower Manhattan at around 6:30 p.m., sources said. Doris allegedly punched the boy after his 13-year-old brother retrieved the phone, sources said.

The suspect was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, grand larceny, and criminal mischief, according to court records.

Doris’ arraignment was pending Friday.
