NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An arsonist set two NYPD vehicles on fire in Manhattan on Monday night, police said.

The unoccupied cop cars were torched at E. 29th Street and Sixth Avenue in NoMad around 8:40 p.m.

The two vehicles—one marked and one unmarked—were heavily damaged in the fires, but no one was injured.

At least one pile of trash was also set on fire in the area. Video shows the garbage going up in smoke and flames near a Bank of America branch.

The firebug fled the scene and was still being sought Tuesday, police said.

Investigators don’t yet have a potential motive or a description of the suspect.
