Man dies after jumping from Fashion Institute of Technology building in Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man jumped to his death from the roof of a nine-story building at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Chelsea Sunday morning.

The 37-year-old man leaped off the roof of the Shirley A. Goodman Resource Center after a security guard went to investigate an alarm he tripped, the New York Daily News reported.

The NYPD confirmed a man was found dead around 5:11 a.m. in front of the building, but refused to say how the man died.

The Goodman Center houses a library, a museum and FIT’s graduate school.

Police have not yet identified the man who died.
