Worker beaten with 'wet floor' sign as group 'flash robs' Manhattan 7-Eleven

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 7-Eleven worker was beaten with a “wet floor” sign as he tried to stop a group of shoplifters from raiding his store, police said Friday.

The NYPD released images of multiple suspects in the Feb. 6 “flash robbery” at the 7-Eleven at Sixth Avenue and W. 27th Street in NoMad.

Six males entered the store around 9:10 p.m. and started stealing merchandise en masse, police said.

When the 29-year-old worker tried to stop them from leaving with the stolen items, the group beat him up, according to police.

The victim was kicked in the body and struck in the head with the “wet floor” sign.

The group fled the area on mopeds that were last seen headed north on Sixth Avenue.

The victim suffered minor injuries. He refused medical attention at the scene.
