Madisonville Community College hosts Spring Fling blood drive

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Madisonville Community College is hosting the Spring Fling Blood drive today in partnership with the Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center (WKRBC).

The blood drive will take place from 10:00 a.m. and last until 3:00 p.m. in the front of the Beshear Education Center, where the WKRBC bloodmobile will be stationed. To be eligible to donate blood, participants must meet the following requirements:

Present a valid photo ID
Must be 18 years old or 17 & 16 years old with parental consent
Must weigh at least 115 pounds
Check with staff for any conflicting medications
Have at least 56 days between previous blood donation

Donors are encouraged to sign up in advance on signupgenius.com , and parental consent forms can be found on wkrbc.org . All donors will receive a complimentary T-shirt, and for every pint of blood collected, WKRBC will donate $5 to support the Madisonville Community College Reader Committee.
