A Madisonville man was arrested by Hopkinsville police on strangulation and assault charges following an incident on Sivley Road.
An arrest citation for 31-year old Traviel Civils of Madisonville alleges he was in an argument with his girlfriend when he struck her in the face, burned her forehead with a cigarette and choked her on the floor with his hands.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
