After leading Monona police on a weekend chase onto the Beltline, a Madison man is currently in custody.
When the 26-year-old driver took off, authorities say they made their first attempt to stop him on West Broadway around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The suspect, according to the authorities, crashed near the John Nolen Drive exit ramp before fleeing on foot and surrendering shortly thereafter.
A list of outstanding warrants led to the man’s arrest, and additional charges are still pending.
The scene, according to the officers, also contained suspected cocaine and prescription drugs.
