Woodmont Elementary in Montville Placed on Lockdown
MONTVILLE, NJ – Woodmont Elementary School was under lockdown conditions for about one and a half hours on Thursday morning, April 18, according to Montville Township Police Chief Andrew Caggiano. A threat was made to the school, which the Chief declined to comment on, and was forwarded to district School Resource Officer Patrolman Robert Manieri and immediately reviewed by Montville Police, according to Caggiano and a release by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Thomas Gorman.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Classes resumed once the threat was deemed “not credible,” but an investigation into the threat is ongoing, Caggiano told TAPinto Montville. Parsippany Police Alert Residents to Latest Scam
PARSIPPANY, NJ - The Parsippany Police have released the following scam alert to all residents: A scam was recently reported to our department involving a tree-cutting service. The scammers are illegally soliciting victims, claiming to be performing tree removal services on behalf of the Township of Parsippany – Troy Hills for properties that were “likely to be condemned”. They are accepting money and not returning to perform the service. The incident is currently under investigation. East Orange Man Arrested in Connection to January 1 Shooting Incident in Paterson
PATERSON, NJ - Eudys Santios-Toribio, 23, East Orange, was arrested on Thursday in connection to a shooting incident that occurred on January 1 in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes, and Paterson Police Department Officer in Charge Isa Abbassi announced. Bayonne Assaulted Police Officer During Traffic Stop, Report Says
BAYONNE, NJ - A 25-year-old Bayonne man was arrested on Wednesday and charged with Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer after he reportedly threw punches while he was being placed under arrest. According to Captain Eric Amato, Ranneil A. Wiggan was operating a motor vehicle when he was stopped in the area of West 31st Street at approximately 11:36 p.m. Wiggan “immediately became irate and refused to provide the officer with his driving credentials,” a report says, and he was advised that he would be arrested if he did not comply.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER After further “non-compliance,” the report says, the officer advised Wiggan that he was under arrest and requested him to exit the vehicle. Wiggan reportedly continued to not comply and as the officer attempted to guide him out of the vehicle, Wiggan tensed his body, began flailing his arms, and punched the officer numerous times about the torso.
