Maine man dies in rollover crash in Madison after hitting a building

Somerset County officials say neither person in the pickup truck were wearing seatbelts

A Somerset County man is dead after a crash into a building in Madison Sunday evening. Sheriff's deputies say a white pick-up truck was heading north on Route 201 just before 7 p.m., about a quarter-mile south of the intersection with White School House Road. Investigators say the pick-up crossed the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic, went off the road and hit a line of storage units before rolling over. When the truck came to rest on its roof, 42-year-old Steven Young of Hartland had partially fallen out of the truck. First responders pronounced him dead at the site of the crash. A 55-year-old Montana man who was also in the car was not hurt in the incident. Officials have not clarified as to which of the men was driving, but investigators say neither was wearing a seat belt. State police are trying to reconstruct the crash to figure out why the truck left the road in the first place.
