MABANK–Judge Johnny Adams has announced that the 68th Annual Rodeo and Western Week will take place June 19-24 this year. The event is sponsored by the Mabank Volunteer Fire Department and is the biggest fundraiser for the department held yearly.
Visitors and residents alike look forward to the fun every year as Mabank and surrounding areas harken back to our roots as Western themed activities abound.
The week begins with Queen rehearsal Monday and Tuesday night at the Alene and Andrew Gibbs Memorial arena. Wednesday night marks the Queen’s Dinner at BNR Country.
Thursday will be the Youth Rodeo Ride, Rope and Catch by the Cowboy Church
The Rodeo begins Friday night at 8 p.m. Events include calf roping, breakaway roping, bareback, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies open barrels and bull riding. Books open at United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) website. 
The parade will commence at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24 with line-up starting at 3 p.m. at the arena. The rodeo begins at 8 p.m. with a dance afterward at the Mabank Pavilion.
