Two Injured in Lyon County Plane Crash

Larchwood, IA (KICD)– Two people were reportedly hurt when their plane crashed early Monday afternoon in Lyon County.

Authorities say the single engine aircraft crashed just south of the runway at Larchwood Airport shortly before 1:30 with one of the occupants being airlifted to Sioux Falls with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The second individual was taken to the hospital by ambulance with what are described as minor injuries.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says the incident remains under investigation and no possible cause has been released.
