Jeff Grev leaving Hormel Foods after 40 years
AUSTIN, Minn. – Jeff Grev, vice president of legislative affairs for Hormel Foods Corporation, is retiring after 40 years with the company. “I want to thank Jeff for his four decades of extraordinary service to our company. I’m grateful for his leadership, vision and the significant contributions he made in sales, marketing, corporate development and most recently as vice president of legislative affairs,” says Jim Snee, chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Hormel Foods. “I wish Jeff and his wife Chris all the best in retirement.”
“A Work of Art — Creating Food Security” Exhibit
(Hormel Foods) – The Hometown Food Security Project (HFSP) and Hormel Foods Corporation in collaboration with Austin High School invite residents of Austin and surrounding communities to attend “A Work of Art: Creating Food Security.” The exhibition will showcase creative projects produced by local high school students with the theme of fighting food insecurity in Mower County and around the world. The effort aims to empower students to share their vision and ideas for solutions.

Marine Corps veteran walks for suicide awareness

Austin man pleads guilty for 2023 collision that injured several people
AUSTIN, Minn. – The driver responsible for a two-vehicle collision that injured several people has pleaded guilty. Jeffer Lorenzo, 24 of Austin, has entered a guilty plea to criminal vehicular operation – great bodily harm for the crash on July 29, 2023, at the intersection of 2nd Avenue SW and 4th Street SW in Austin. Five other criminal charges will likely be dismissed when Lorenzo is sentenced, which is set for June 13 in Mower County District Court.
