Large Gym To Temporarily Close At Northeast Community Center
CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. – The Calvert County Department of Parks & Recreation (CCPR) advises citizens that the large gym at Northeast Community Center will temporarily close for floor replacement starting on Dec. 4, 2023. This improvement project will enhance the community center with new wood flooring suited for various activities including volleyball, indoor pickleball and basketball. The building will remain open and operating during construction.

LEONARDTOWN, MD – Beginning Friday, December 1, at 10 a.m., the Chesapeake Public Charter School (CPCS) online lottery application will OPEN. All interested families must fill out applications online at cpcsapplication.com during the open enrollment period. (This includes all siblings who were waitlisted in the 23/24 school year). UPDATE: Snakehead Caught in Dorchester County Sets World Record
CAMBRIDGE, Md. - A northern snakehead caught over the summer in Dorchester County now holds the world record at 21 pounds. According to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the International Game Fish Association, Damien Cook of Rhodesdale caught the behemoth on July 5th. At 21-pounds, the fish measured more than 36 inches long and was certified on a scale from Kool Ice Seafood in Cambridge.
