SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - There were tense times for Gregory’s boys in at the end of the 2024 SDHSAA State B Track and Field Meet. Though the Gorillas were in second place the final event of the meet, the 4x400 relay, first Freeman Academy/Marion didn’t have a team in the final relay, the Gorillas needed to finish at least third to share the state title.

Man killed in Charles Mix County crash identified
CHARLES MIX COUNTY, S.D. (KELO) – -The 43-year-old killed Friday morning in a crash near Academy, South Dakota has been identified. The Department of Public Safety says Nicholas J. Doney was driving westbound on South Dakota Highway 50. Doney failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the ditch where the vehicle vaulted over a driveway and rolled. Doney was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a nearby health center where he was pronounced dead.
Voters reject machine-counting ban in all three counties where it was on the ballot
A majority of voters in three South Dakota counties showed their trust in the state’s current election system Tuesday as they rejected proposed bans on tabulator machines. The votes were in Gregory, Haakon and Tripp counties. Citizen groups petitioned the measures onto the ballots in an effort to ban vote-counting machines and force a switch to hand counting. LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - he 2024 NSAA State Track and Field Championships are happening May 15-18 at Burke Stadium on the campus of Omaha Burke High School. Class C and D athletes compete on Friday and Saturday. Classes A and B concluded on Thursday night.

Dallas' interim City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert pulled the trigger, knocking on Sanger's door and roping in Alina Ciocan to shepherd an array of public service departments. Ciocan is sliding into the office soon to be vacated by Dr. Robert Perez, Dallas announced.
