The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has identified a man and woman found dead in a vehicle that was partially submerged in a canal in Loxahatchee Groves on Sunday morning.

The bodies of 19-year old Liliana Vargas and 21-year old Deric Varela were pulled out of the water.

A sheriff's spokeswoman says Vargas was driving a Toyota SUV on 60th Street North when she somehow lost control while approaching 190th Terrace North and hit a guard rail, sending the vehicle into the canal.

The SUV was found upside down, with the pair dead inside.

An investigation is underway.
