BOISE, Idaho — Allstate released its 2026 America’s Best Drivers Report, ranking Boise as the third-safest city for drivers in the country. Allstate says it uses insurance claims data and insights from Drivewise to compile the report. Drivewise provides feedback on driving behaviors including speeding, braking and phone usage.

ACHD to close West Main Street and South Whitewater Park Boulevard intersection on Monday
BOISE — The Ada County Highway District will close the South Whitewater Park Boulevard and West Main Street intersection on Monday for sewer line work, according to an ACHD news release. The intersection is expected to reopen by Sept. 13. Main Street will also remain closed between 27th Street and Whitewater Park Boulevard. During the closure, motorists will have no access to Interstate 184, Chinden Boulevard or Fairview Avenue from Main Street. In order for people who need access I-184, drivers who normally take either Chinden or Fairview should use 27th Street to State Street, then take Veterans Memorial Parkway and Curtis Road. This is the second phase of work for the development project, the release states. After this phase is complete, Main Street will be closed west of Whitewater Park Boulevard to the Boise River. The final phase is expected to continue through the end of October. The closure is not part of an ACHD project. For more information about the roadwork, contact Granite Excavation at 208-382-4188.

No Main St. access to I-184 during sewer work; detours routed via 27th and State
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Commuters in Boise will be wrestling with a new road closure along Main St. starting on Monday. ACHD has announced plans to close the intersection of Whitewater Park Blvd. and Main St. beginning on Monday, August 31st, for sewer line work. The closure means there will be no access from Main St. to I-184, Chinden Blvd., or Fairview Ave.
