Tuesday's high school results: Alliance baseball repeats as EBC champion; Lake Center nears PTC title

ALLIANCE REPEATS IN EBC Bo Davis threw a complete-game shutout as the Aviators clinched their second straight outright Eastern Buckeye Conference baseball championship with a 3-0 win at rival Marlington on Tuesday. Davis limited the Dukes to four hits while striking out five for Alliance (14-4, 8-1), which had clinched at least a share of the league title entering the game. The Aviators hadn't won a league title of any kind since 2009 before last year's championship . Brady White and Nathan Butt each had two hits for Alliance, with White scoring a run. The Aviators host Marlington on Wednesday to close out the conference schedule.

LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN NEARS PTC CROWN Nathan Bryant struck out 11 and allowed one run over six innings as the Tigers won 2-1 for a two-game sweep of Mogadore in Portage Trail Conference action. Lake Center , which had won at Mogadore 12-2 on Monday, improves to 17-1 overall and 8-0 in the PTC. The first-place Tigers can repeat as outright league champions with one win next week against second-place Warren JFK (7-1 in PTC). They host Warren JFK on Monday and go on the road Tuesday. Matt Warder had two hits for Lake Center on Tuesday, while Grant Coblentz doubled and earned the save.
