LOUISVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Louisville Metro police officer sprung into action when she heard a faint cry coming from a storm drain.

The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) said it spent Saturday morning directing traffic for the National Street Rod Association’s annual convention. That’s when Lt. Walden heard something out of the ordinary.

The officers decided there was no time to call the fire department, and they devised a plan to make the rescue. LMPD said that Lt. Walden even got “down and dirty” to locate the kitten, and with a little coaxing of some snacks, the kitten was brought back to safety.
