Body recovered from Ohio River after man reported overboard Sunday

A body was found in the Ohio River near the Captain's Quarters Riverside Grille on Tuesday evening.

This follows reports of a man going overboard early Sunday morning.

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department and other agencies responded to a call from MetroSafe around 9:45 p.m. when a man said he found a body, according to a statement from LMPD media and public relations commander Sgt. Matt Sanders.

Around 11:50 p.m., the body was recovered by the coroner's office, and the scene had been secured, Sanders said.

The identity of the person has not yet been released.
