Los Angeles Chargers top bounce-back candidate is one of team's newest players

The Los Angeles Chargers completely revamped their rushing attack and their wide receiver room this offseason following the departures of several long-term offensive weapons. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler will all be playing for different teams in 2024, meaning Justin Herbert will have to gain the trust of some new faces.

Recently, PFF put together a list of each team's top bounce-back candidate. The selection for the Chargers is free-agent addition J.K. Dobbins .

Dobbins' talent has never been questioned, but his durability has been an issue. The former second-round pick spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens but played in just 23 of a potential 66 regular-season games. After playing for his older brother in Baltimore, Jim Harbaugh thought it would be worth it to kick the tires on Dobbins.

Can J.K. Dobbins bounce back for the Chargers in 2024?

Dobbins signed a one-year contract with Los Angeles in April and he has a lot to prove. His career could be on the ropes if he goes down with another season-ending injury.

But there is certainly an opportunity in L.A. now that Ekeler is no longer around. The Chargers also signed former Ravens running back Gus Edwards in free agency, allowing the team to have that one-two punch to help attack teams downhill.

He also shouldn't face stiff competition for carries. The only other running backs on the roster are sixth-round pick Kimani Vidal, Isaiah Spiller, Jaret Patterson and Elijah Dotson.

Harbaugh is going to run the ball, that's what he does. Dobbins is still just 25 years old. The setting is right for a potential career resurrection.
