Despite recent reports that made it seem like Paul George’s days with the Los Angeles Clippers may be numbered, a new piece of information offers hope that he could be back in LA next season.

Throughout much of the 2023-24 NBA season, the Clippers were one of the top teams in the Western Conference NBA Standings . However, when it mattered most, top star Kawhi Leonard suffered another frustrating injury and set up their demise in round one of the playoffs.

It has left many wondering about the future of the team. Leonard is locked into a new long-term deal, but James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Paul George are all set to hit the open market this summer. The latter is a bit surprising since all signs earlier this year seemed to point to George returning since he and the team were in talks on a new contract.

However, in April negotiations hit a stalemate and rumors began to spread that he and the Philadelphia 76ers had mutual interest and that a move to the Eastern Conference team this offseason was very possible. Furthermore, after being eliminated in the semifinals last week, there has been chatter that the New York Knicks could renew the rumored interest they had in the nine-time All-Star late last year.

    • Paul George age: 34 years old

Well, a fresh update on the situation will give Los Angeles Clippers fans hope that they can get George back. On a recent edition of “ Up and Adams ,” NBA insider Shams Charania revealed that there is a notable “belief” around the league that despite the rumblings last month, George is expected to stay put in LA.

Bringing back Harden and Westbrook will be a goal for the Clippers this summer, but a top priority will be to retain the player who turned 34 earlier this month. They need him back if they hope to be a contender next season, and will again have to pray he and Leonard can stay healthy not just in the regular season but finally simultaneously in the playoffs.
