After winning 47 games during the NBA regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers will have to get through the Play-In Tournament once again in order to advance to the first round of the NBA playoffs, where they’ll either face the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets or the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.
In the meantime, the Lakers will focus all their energy on trying to get the best of the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night at the Smoothie King Center in order to punch their ticket to the playoffs and, as a result, head to the Mile High City to take on Nikola Jokic and company.
Unfortunately, toward the end of the team’s regular-season finale against the Pelicans, Davis suffered hip and back spasms, which has caused some concern for his status for Tuesday’s game.
Although Davis has been adamant that he intends to play on Tuesday, Craig Carton of FOX Sports unleashed on the Lakers superstar on Monday, claiming he’s the most overrated superstar in NBA history via NBA Central.
“Anthony Davis is the most overrated superstar in the history of the NBA,” Carton said. “Can’t count on him…He’s always injured; he’s soft, doesn’t play through pain, and you cannot count on him to be there when you need to win a game.”

I totally agree AD is always hurt etc… Do yall even Realize this is probably the 1st season outta his WHOLE CAREER (12yrs) that he’s played a FULL SEASON without getting hurt 🫣🙄🙄 That man been SOFT as Charmin tissue 🤷🏽♀️

Missing time and being soft are to separate things. AD has been injury prone in his career. But he has often tried to play and has played through a lot of his injuries. Guys like Kawhi,Embiid etc miss more time just to rest. AD has played more games than Curry just an FYI.

If Carton paid attention to any other teams outside of New York, he might have seen that Davis has played a career-high 76 games for the Lakers this season and has been arguably the team’s best player as well as one of the most dominant big men in the league.
This seems to be a classic case of an analyst not paying attention to a player or a team and using a past narrative when he clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
