USC football: Which 2 prospects are taking official visits this weekend?

Peyton Woodyard and Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, two local four-star recruits, are set to visit

Official visit season is here and the USC Trojans are expected to host two class of 2024 prospects this weekend. Last weekend, USC hosted 12 recruits and landed five commitments from that group so far.

Here's who will be in attendance beginning on Friday.

Peyton Woodyard

Position: Safety

School: St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.)

247Sports.com composite ranking: Four-star prospect, No. 69 nationally. No. 4 ranked safety

Measurables: 6-foot-2, 188 pounds

The skinny: Woodyard has been committed to Georgia since January and seems pretty locked in on that pledge despite still taking other visits. Woodyard took his official visit to Georgia last weekend and his mother Nora said of the trip "[This was] a memorable weekend we will never forget." It's unlikely Woodyard flips, but the fact that he's still going to USC is somewhat encouraging.

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

Position: Linebacker

School: St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.)

247Sports.com composite ranking: Four-star prospect, No. 109 nationally. No. 8 ranked linebacker

Measurables: 6-foot-3, 230 pounds

The skinny: Consider Viliamu-Asa as the Tackett Curtis of the 2024 cycle for USC. This is the linebacker the Trojans staff desperately wants to land. The fact that only Viliamu-Asa and Woodyard are officially visiting will give the staff plenty of face time with Viliamu-Asa and his family over the next few days. Ohio State and Notre Dame are also recruiting the four-star linebacker prospect and the rumors are that USC is currently in third place in the recruitment. But of course, that could all change after the visit. Who expected Kameryn Fountain to commit at this time last week?
