Elliot Page reveals he was victim of transphobic attack in WeHo last year

In his brand new memoir, actor Elliot Page describes a harrowing incident in which a transphobic stranger attacked him on his way to Pink Dot on the Sunset Strip last year.

“I’m going to fucking gay bash you, f*ggot,” the man screamed at Page, who took refuge inside Pink Dot with the help of its employees. “This is why I need a gun!” the man cried out from the other side of the store’s locked door.

“Now when I’m in Los Angeles, I don’t feel comfortable like I used to going for walks,” Page told the Los Angeles Times in a recent interview.

Elliot Page is known for his Academy Award-nominated performance in “Juno” and for his roles in blockbusters such as “Inception” and several of the “X-Men” films. Page was known as Ellen Page before coming out as transgender in 2020.

“Pageboy: A Memoir” was released Monday and is available at major book retailers nationwide.

Is the quote is correct, this was not a transphobic attack. This was a homophobic attack. Let’s get the facts straight.

So, if this quote is correct, then it was not a transfer of attack. It was a homophobic attack. Let’s get the facts straight.

“I am going to gay bash you.” Sounds just like the mugger who told me “I am going to illegally remove you of your belongings.”

If someone tries to rob you, tell them no. They cannot rob you without your consent.

Why are so many people so quick to doubt his story? Jaded.

Because she is constantly seeking attention…..and trying to sell a book.

It’s like these people save up all their victimhood until they write a book. Where’s the police report of this heinous crime?

Because most people are able to identify when something doesn’t have the ring of truth to it. This is one of those times.

Once again, jaded. And please show some respect. HE. I sometimes question the community that I live in. If you don’t believe his story, that’s fine, but continuing to call him a her? I don’t understand what’s wrong with people.

To be honest, I actually believe the story.

Except it was probably an aggressive homeless person (with mental issues) instead of.. a targeted hate crime.

I had some random dude chase me down Santa Monica Blvd near La Cienega trying to fight. I never for a second thought it was because I’m gay. It was because he was a total psycho mental patient.

Nothing happened. This is just attention seeking. This subject matter is just eye-rolling at this point.

“Phobic” is a deflection tossed about so much more than fact or discussion, it’s becoming meaningless, and in some cases, a badge of honor.

Phobia is an irrational fear. Acrophobia is irrational unless you’ve fallen off of a building and barely survived, then your hesitance is rational and experiential.

What the alphabet mafia has caused among straights and normal LGBT folks is this: abject disdain. Why is there an ad for butt plugs on a bus stop on Doheny?

I stand with Gays Against Groomers and encourage every good man and woman in WeHo to do the same.
